Beginning May 16, BRTC will begin following summer hours. Campuses will be open from 7 a.m.
Historians note in the 19th century, homes lacked electricity and gas to cook food and meals were cooked over the fire. With this in mind, a Victorian Dutch oven workshop has been planned. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 28, and the registration fee is $20. Organizers note participants will leave with a recipe booklet, and knowhow of 19th century cooking. Caregivers have taken on unimaginable challenges and have risen to the occasion repeatedly and it is essential that others see the pandemic from their perspective.
Rector High School held the annual Honors Assembly on Friday morning, May 13, in the school gymnasium. Parents and community leaders were present for the occasion.
The annual Williams Cemetery Association business meeting and homecoming will be held beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28. The gathering will be held at the cemetery, located on CR 450 between Piggott and Crockett, and all are welcome to attend.
