Piggott Health System held a ribbon cutting and open house at their new home health office in Kennett on Tuesday, March 25. The office, Piggott Health System Southeast Missouri Home Health, is a branch of the Campbell Health agency in Campbell. The Campbell office will change their name to Piggott Health System Southeast Missouri Home Health.
The Rector School District Gifted and Talented Program is asking for student referrals for students in the second through 11th grades. Referral forms may be picked up and returned to the elementary, high school or superintendent’s office. Referred students should display high intellectual ability, task commitment and/or motivation and creative ability. Tuesday, April 1, the Piggott School Board met in special session with all board members present. First on the agenda was discussion of Bailey Professional Development with the school board voting to approve.
On Wednesday, March 26, a community meeting was held at the Piggott Diner to discuss some of the improved changes coming to the Clay County Times-Democrat. Guest speaker for the event was Jeremy Gulban, CEO of Cherry Road Media, along with Jeff Emblad, Director of Circulation and Distribution with CherryRoad Media.

Clay County Fair Association is in search of anyone interested in preforming the National Anthem live at their outdoor events for 2025. Auditions will be held in the Clay County Fair kitchen from 12 to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 19.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Department has been busy the past several days and reports numerous arrests.
The first Saturday in April is traditionally a busy one in Piggott, as both the Piggott High School FFA Open Farm Equipment Auction and the Chamber of Commerce’s city wide yard sale are held. This year will also feature the Piggott Public Library book sale from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. located at 361 W. Main.
