Rector Police warn of scam

In a public service announcement, posted on the Rector Police Department’s Facebook, it was noted that the department had been made aware of fraudulent phone calls from scammers being made to Rector area residents using the Rector Police Department’s phone number.

Clay County Sheriff ’s Department makes arrest after attempted traffic stop

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department reports than on Jan. 18 a Clay County deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle between Piggott and St. Francis on U.S. 62. The vehicle refused to pull over and turned onto CR 346 heading west. The vehicle was traveling over 60 mph on the gravel road. The deputy did not want the vehicle to make it back to Piggott or turn into the hills at this speed. The deputy performed a T.V.I. (tactical ve-hicle intervention) on the vehicle, which caused it to go into the ditch.
