The Rector Library was brimming with holiday magic on Wednesday, Dec. 11, as Santa himself stopped by to spread some Christmas cheer! During his visit, over 160 children and adults came through the doors, eager for a chance to meet the jolly man in red. Among the visitors were the Rector Preschool, Rector Kindergarten, and Marmaduke Preschool, making the day extra special with their excitement and joy.
With reference to gift-giving and receiving, I present this thought –gifts are bestowed all year. Whether these are gifts of friendship, health, or simply good cheer, gifts come with a brief hug, a memory, or perhaps a song.
Lake Charles State Park opened an archery range on Dec. 16 and will be open through March 10 at the park, 3705 Highway 25, Powhatan. The range is free and open to the public 8 a.m.-5p.m. on weekdays and 1 p.m.-5p.m. on weekends. Participants will need to go to the Visitor Information Center to reserve the range and sign an agreement to abide by the rules and regulations of the range.
