Supper with Santa planned Dec. 14

The Piggott Schools Band Programs will host Supper with Santa featuring the Piggott Jazz Band from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Piggott Elementary School gym. The event is sponsored by the Piggott High School Band Boosters and the evening menu will include a variety of soups, sandwiches, chili, chicken and dumplings, desserts and drinks with to-go plates available. Admission is $10 for adults, $4 for children ages six and up and children under five will be admitted free with a paying adult. Activities will include pictures with Santa, make-n-take ornament and hot chocolate and cookies. Supper with Santa is planned as a community-wide event, and everyone is invited to attend. Proceeds benefit the Piggott Schools Band Programs.

Piggott City Council hears update on sidewalk project

The Piggott City Council met on Tuesday, Nov. 19 due to the regular meeting date falling on Thanksgiving night. All members and City Attorney Kimberly Dale were in attendance. The minutes from the previous meeting were approved with the exception of it stating council member Jeff Benbrook was absent during the October meeting as he was present. The financials were approved as presented.

Photography opportunities available at HPMEC

The Hemingway-Pfeiffer Museum and Educational has announced is an ideal location for photography but to minimize disruptions of visitors’ experience photography sessions are limited to after hours. Museum winter hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Museum director Shannon Williams commented, “We kindly request that you do not relocate benches or porch furniture during photography sessions. Attaching banners or props to the house or barn studio is prohibited, and color bombs, glitter or confetti are not allowed on the premises.” For inquiries, contact the museum at 870598-3487.
