Arkansas State University Museum has again achieved accreditation by the American Alliance of Museums, the highest national recognition afforded to the nation’s museums. Accreditation signifies excellence to the museum community, to governments, funders, outside agencies, and to the museum-going public.
Colby Barham, the Band Director at Rector High School, met with students and parents along with Nate Henderson, principal of Rector High School, this past Monday evening to bring focus to the rebuilding of the Cougar Band program. Barham has three years’ experience as band director with goals to have band members perform and return pride to the Cougar program.

A reading retreat is planned for this fall at two of the Arkansas State University Heritage Sites. The retreat will be held at The Historic Dyess Colony: Johnny Cash Boyhood Home and Southern Tenant Farmers Museum.

Labor Day Picnic meeting planned The Woodland Heights Cemetery Board will host its annual public meeting at 6 p. m.
The 94th edition of the annual Greenway Picnic, held each year to fund the continued upkeep of the beautiful Mitchell Cemetery, is set for this Saturday, Aug. 3, at the community’s picnic grounds and will feature the traditional slate of beauty pageants.
