The 94th edition of the annual Greenway Picnic, held each year to fund the continued upkeep of the beautiful Mitchell Cemetery, is set for this Saturday, Aug. 3, at the community’s picnic grounds and will feature the traditional slate of beauty pageants.
PHS Class of 1974 will celebrate their 50th class reunion on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Strawberry Event Center at 107 Main, Holcomb, Mo. Buffet meal and drink is $25 per person with cash bar available. Money will be paid at the door. Please RSVP by Aug. 23 for meal planning with your name and number in your party. Parks Cemetery, located 2 miles west of Rector, is in need of donations for the upkeep of the cemetery. “If you have loved ones buried at the cemetery we would appreciate your donation,” commented a spokesperson. The annual Greenway School reunion will be held beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, at the Piggott Diner. Organizers encourage all former students to attend. Those wanting additional information may contact Jane Cook at 870-324-0236.
Piggott Elementary School will host new student registration for the upcoming school year from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1. Parent/ guardian must bring their student’s social security cards, birth certificate and shot records.

Clear skies and good crowds were the order of the day Saturday, July 13, as the 91st annual Pollard Picnic was held. Each year the event is held at the picnic grounds in Pollard, with the proceeds benefiting the continued up keep of the New Hope Cemetery.
