Piggott School Board held a special called meeting on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024 with board members Fallon Winscott, Kristen Crittenden and Rob Chandler present. Board members Jacob Richardson and Jennifer Rahn were unable to attend.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Department released an incident report of the abuse of a 15-year-old juvenile by her guardian, Janet Mercer, 56 of Piggott.
Piggott City Council met on Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 6 p.m. at city hall with all council members present.
Clay County Quorum Court met in regular session on Monday, Dec. 16 at the Clay County Road Department building with Justices Patrick Patterson, Dennis Haines, David Hatcher, Neal Smith, George Lowe, Randy Kingston, Brad Green and Jody Henderson in attendance and Justice David Cagle absent. Prior to the meeting a Christmas dinner was provided for the elected officials.
The schedule of activities is now underway as the Piggott Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the sixth annual 12 Days of Christmas. This year’s holiday offering kicked-off this past Saturday, Dec. 7, and will run through Friday, Dec. 20.
