Registration underway for Labor Day 5K
Early registrations are now being accepted for the Rector Labor Day 5K, set to begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31. The event, which benefits the Rector Helping Hands Foundation, will begin in front of the Rector High School gymnasium.

Smith participates in Kid’s Golf World Championship Tournament
Jett Smith of Marmaduke, seven-year old son of Trent and Kelsey Smith, participated in the 2024 U.S. Kid’s Golf World Championship tournament last week at Pinehurst, N.C. Jett’s age division played on one of the toughest courses in the tournament. Being a part of the event affirmed that he is one of the Top 100 sevenyear old golfers in the world. The golfers played in the driving rain on the first day of the event, but “everyone was too excited to care too much,” shared Jett’s mother Kelsey.

Hendrix named to Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame
Current Cougar standout coach, David Hendrix, Clay County Central class of 1988, has been named to the Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the class of 2024. He will be inducted at the annual RHSSHOF luncheon on Saturday, Aug.
RHSSHOF plans annual golf tourney
