In the Friday night battle between two Cougar teams, only one would claim the prize – and it was the Izard County Central Cougars who earned the victory over the visiting senior high Rector Cougars, 38 - 8. With the traveling fans looking for an outcome like the Junior Cougars enjoyed, the cheers for the Rector Cougars were loud. The fans celebrated Braden Thompson’s romp for four touchdowns and a ton of tackles along with the work of quarterback Chance Lopez and receiver Austin Avery plus the defensive plays of Waylon Haynes and others. With their 38 – 20 win, the Junior Cougars moved to 2-1-1 on the season.
