Times-Democrat Sports Staff The Mohawk boys and girls teams traveled to Jonesboro to play Riverside on Monday, Aug. 22 for the first matches of the season, with the first games resulting in a 0-1 for Piggott.
Times-Democrat Sports Staff The first game of the 2022 season was a loss for the football Mohawks who were up against a tough opponent, with the Tribe traveling to Gosnell to compete against the Pirates. The highlights of the game for the Mohawks were se- nior Joe Carpenter returning an interception 80 yards for a touchdown and Jesus Garcia scoring the two-point conversion.
Piggott Lady Mohawk volleyball teams started their season with a jamboree held in Trumann for both senior and junior high teams. The first home game was played on Tuesday, Aug. 23 against Greene County Tech. On Monday, Aug. 29, all teams hosted Bald Knob and will host Harrisburg on Sept. 1.
Times-Democrat Sports Staff In a convincing 50 – 18 road game victory over the Marshall Bobcats, the 2022 Rector Cougars ate up yards with Jackson Hill and Jacob Cox getting the calls. Ashton Scott went most of the game at quarterback and Drew Henderson took snaps, also.
