Cora Allean Price, 96, departed this life May 22, 2023. She went through life as Allean. She was born August 17, 1926 in Rector, Ark., to John and Cora (Robinson) Holcomb. When she was a small child they moved to St. Louis, Mo., where her Dad worked for General Motor Fisher Body Division. At this time there were many layoff’s, so the family moved back and forth to Arkansas for many years.

Allean asked Jesus into her heart and life at age 12. She attended many churches that were Christ centered like the Methodist, General Baptist, Church of Christ and Church of God. She taught Sunday School (both children and adult) for many years, was President of the Missionary Society and volunteered in many community programs.

She retired from the Department of Defense in 1989 after 32 years of service.

On February 26, 1948, she married the love of her life, W.H. (Dub) Price. They lived in St. Louis, Mo., 25 years and then moved back to Rector for another 25 years. They were married 53 years when Dub passed away.

Allean was preceded in death by her parents: John and Cora Holcomb, her husband: W.H. Price and a brother: Robbie Holcomb.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Barbara and Lynn Higgins of Edmond, Okla., Beverly and Terry Deal of Springfield, Mo., and Ken and Karen Price of Rector; her grandchildren: Ben and Samantha Higgins, Brian and Abby Higgins, Daniel and Megan Deal, Chris and Meghan Deal, Caleb and Kim Price and Sarah Price; great-grandchildren: Jackson, Tyson, Steven, Lleyton, Elijah, Ellie, Ethan, Beau, Luke, Theo and Addison.

Visitation was held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the First General Baptist Church in Rector with the services beginning at 2 p.m. Interment was at Woodland Heights Cemetery.

Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of arrangements.
