Danna Jo Haywood

Danna Jo Haywood, 75, of Piggott, Ark., passed away December 14, 2022, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Dale and Eulalia (Sinko) Haywood.
She grew up in their family home in Greenway and attended Greenway and Piggott Public Schools. She was married to Hulen Haywood in 1964.
Surviving family members are children: Kim Decourcy of Blue Springs, Mo, Susan Rodery of Greenway, and Heath (Rachel) Haywood of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. Her wonderful grandchildren are Connor Rodery (Rachel Cate) of Piggott, Caroline (Bill) Wilson of Piggott, Katie Grace and Davis Haywood of Mayfield, Kentucky, Charlee and Carrie Haywood of Fountain Inn, South Carolina. Her greatgrandchildren are Kaden, Ryver, Addilynn, and Penelope Wilson and Kollins Rodery all of Piggott. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Debby Haywood of Piggott and Debby’s son, Andy and his family of Paragould.
There are many other relatives on Hulen’s side of the Haywood family who are also “her family.” They always considered Danna and her children at family gatherings. They are like brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews to her, and she loved them all.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Hulen; parents, Dale and Eulalia Haywood, brother, Mickey; and dear friends, Joan Thompson and Kay (Dowdy) Gloe.
Danna lived a full and wonderful life and had many different interests. Not necessarily in order, she loved reading, her flowers, and yard work, crafts, entertaining and visiting with friends and family, church and community work, music, movies, and certainly not last, the love, time, and memories made and shared with her family.
She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Piggott where she helped with the food pantry and led a ladies’ study group.
Her life was filled with work in and out of her home and community and church. When she lived in St. Louis, she worked for Kraft Foods as a shipping and receiving clerk as well as graphic design for ads. When the family moved back to Piggott, she spent her last 40 years of employment with Farm Credit Midsouth; retiring in 2013.
Her wish for each of you in attendance today is to be looking forward to a future of joy and happiness, grab each minute and hold it special. Always look to God for the answers you do not have and trust him to show the path he desires for you to take. He will not lead you the wrong way. May God bless and keep you all.
A visitation was held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, December 18, 2022, with memorial service immediately following at 3 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Chapel with Chris Brantley officiating and Tim McCluskey assisting. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Piggott Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the cremation arrangements.
