Danny Roy McKenney

Danny Roy McKenney, 68, of Rector, passed from this world on February 2, 2024, at the Rector Nursing and Rehab. Danny was born in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Roy and Viola (Walls) McKenney.

As a young man he received a Bachelor Degree in Science and Accounting. He decided to try his own line of business and operated the Pizza Line at Rector which many enjoyed. He then went on to work as an accountant at Voice Text Communications. He greatly loved to travel and observe the many beautiful scenes in this world. He was full of useless knowledge as he liked to tell his family and he also knew his movie trivia. Danny even tried his hand at knitting. There were lots of projects started, just none finished.

He is survived by his sisters: Donna Mode of Rector and Rose and Wayne Jones of Manila; a brother: James Calvin McKenney of Rector; nieces and nephews: Erin and Mike Groves of Boydsville, Ben and Mandy Yancey of Rector, and Shawn and Katie Jones of Manila and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 1 p.m. at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Services followed at 2 p.m. with Brother Kenny Burns officiating. Interment was at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector.
