Dentis Delaine Crow

Dentis Delaine Crow, 90, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, in Vancouver, Wash.

He was born June 7, 1933, in Pollard, Ark., son of the late Arthur and Irene Ingram Crow. He was the last surviving sibling of eight brothers and sisters: Juanita Hunter, Edward Crow, Wilburn Crow, Elvis Crow, Doris Crow, Dallas Crow (his twin brother), and Linda Benbrook.

He was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and stationed in Germany. In 1956, after returning home from the Army, Dentis married Helen Propst Crow, his wife of 65 years. They eventually settled in Thousand Oaks, Calif., and raised five children.

Dentis was employed for over 30 years as a prototype machinist at Hughes Research and Development Laboratories in Malibu, Calif., where he worked on advanced science and technology innovation projects for the aerospace and defense industry.

After retiring, in 1997 Dentis relocated with his wife Helen to Vancouver, Wash., to be closer to grandchildren. He greatly enjoyed family, neighbors, and being actively involved at church. He was known for his generous nature, commitment to helping others, sense of duty, love of

God, and living a life of purpose.

He is survived by four children: Kenny (Kim) Crow of Yuba City, Calif., Amy Crow of Loveland, Colo., Janet (John) Lefor of Vancouver, Wash., Cheryl Crow of Haymarket, Va.; twelve grandchildren: Jeffrey Crow, Jamie (Jason) Bird, Bryan Crow, Patrick Crow, Lily (Skip) Newcomb, Jonathan (Nikki) Lefor, Joylynn Lefor, Jeremiah (Arlana) Lefor, Josh (Hannah) Lefor, Janelle (Ryan) Westbrook, Christina (Chris) Dillon, Kathleen (Samantha) Hazel; and twenty great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Helen Crow; adopted son: Larry Crow; and grandchild: Julie Crow.

His life-long wish was to be buried in his beloved boyhood hometown of Pollard. A graveside service was held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard.
