Donald Foster
Donald Foster, 84, of Piggott, Ark., passed away December 27, 2022, at Piggott General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott.
He was born on November 5, 1938, in Crockett, Ark., and was the son of the late William “Buck” and Flora (Bolton) Foster.
Donald was united in marriage to Melba Alderson on December 29, 1956.
Donald was a Veteran and was a member of Masonic Lodge #545 and Eastern Star. He was anAlderman for the City of Piggott and also was active in the Piggott Jaycees and Piggott Little League. In addition, he served the Piggott community as a businessman, owning and operating an auto parts store for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Melvin Foster.
Donald is survived by his wife, Melba Foster of Piggott; two sons, Dwayne (Belinda) Foster of Jacksonville, Ark., and Don (Thea) Foster of Sikeston, Mo.; grandchildren Nicole (Kevin) Beirne of Bryant, Ark., Jessica Beaty of College Station, Texas, and Sara Beaty of Mascoutah, Ill.; great-great grandchildren, Blaine and Asher of Bryant, Ark.; two brothers, Marvin (Pat) Foster of Port St. Lucia, Fla, and Bill (Irene) Foster of Jefferson City, Mo.; twin sister, Ollie Hardie of Webb City, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at1 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Bro. Anthony Dowdy officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Eddie Henley, Wayne Henley, Scott Myers, Kevin Beirne, Kenney Foster, and Roy Stender. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 12:00 p.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
