Donna Nixon passed away peacefully on August 21, 2023, at the St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born on January 23, 1962, to Robert and Fay (Woodall) Philpot in Campbell, Mo.
She was married to Timothy “Tim” Nixon on August 12, 1983, having celebrated their 40 years of happiness. Donna was employed at Darling Store Fixtures in Piggott, and then later in Paragould, for forty years. She was a loving wife and daughter. She was of the Methodist faith.
Donna graduated from Campbell Senior High School in May 1981. She was active in softball and volleyball and was a member of the Beta Club.
She was very fond of animals. Her “long time” animal was a dog she named “Major.” She loved all of her cats that she called, jointly, “Some More” because there seemed to be a new litter of kittens every season.
Donna is survived by her husband, Tim Nixon, of Piggott; her mother, Fay Biggs of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; sisters, Sandra Fort (Mike) of Piggott, Becky Moore (Gary) of Ellington, Mo., Ellen Pierce (Doug) living in Illinois; and brothers, Michael Philpot, of Piggott, Jessie Philpot (Brenda) of Campbell, Mo., and Ronald Treat of Dexter, Mo.; and sister-in-law, Linda (Gary) Meadows of Cabot, Ark., and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert Van Philpot; two brothers, Wayne Treat, and Eugene Treat and one sister Penny Ellen Bradshaw.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Hoggard and Son Funeral Home in Piggott. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, with Pastor Kevin Murray officiating. Burial followed at the Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Ark. Pallbearers were Michael Philpot, Jessie Philpot, Daren Wagster, Benjamin Philpot, Billy Hardin, and Randy Vowell.
