Dorothy Mae Horton Wright

Dorothy Mae Horton Wright, 90, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away January 19, 2025, at Greene Acres Nursing Home in Paragould.

She was born on May 21, 1934, in Wilson, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Nute and Vestes (Wilson) Horton.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles Edward Wright in 1953.

Dorothy retired from Allied Van Lines in Broadview, Illinois. She was a life member of VFW Auxiliary post 4517 in Piggott. She was on the Auxiliary board with the Piggott Hospital and was with the Mahjong group of Piggott for many years. Dorothy was an active member of Wrights Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Nute and Vestes (Wilson) Horton; five sisters, Trixie Lee Horton, Nina Lou Doremus, Francis Dickie, Barbara Sue Egbert, and Juanita Foster.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Charles Wright of 72 years; one son, Edward Lee and wife Marilee Wright of Paragould, Arkansas; granddaughter, Jessica Lynn and husband Phil Jagielo of Saint Charles, Illinois; three great-grandsons, Cameron Wright Jagielo, Emeric Rene Jagielo, and Kormac Jeffery Jagielo; one sister, Margaret Stevens and husband Richard of Rushville, Indiana; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott with Joe Cole officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
