Earlene Presson Wiles

Earlene Presson Wiles passed away Thursday September 8, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born August 17, 1925 to the late Ira and Gladys (Clayton) Harris in Black Oak, Ark.
She was preceded in death by two siblings, Billy Harris and Rosie White. She is survived by her two sisters, Alma White and Thelma Ash.
Earlene was married to Roy Shuemake in 1941 until his death in 1976. Their three daughters survived her; Lenda Pezza of Toms River, NJ, Jacqulene Reddick of Little Rock,Ark., and Pamela (Niel) Crowson of Jonesboro.
She lived most of her adult life in Rector where she was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church at Hargrave Corner. She met and married Arthur Presson, in church and they were married 29 years. His children, Alan, Dennis and Gayle survived him. She moved to St. Bernard’s Village after his death in 2006. She became a member of First United Methodist Church after her move. During her time there she married Clyde Wiles. He passed away in 2019. He was survived by his daughters Peggy (Gene) Vance and Wilma (James) Hart.
Earlene enjoyed spending time with her many friends at the Village and always enjoyed the social activities. Her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was blessed with six grandchildren; Monica (Gary Laks) Pezza, Lisa Pezza, and Shanna Pezza of Toms River, NJ, Lenny (Vicky) Pezza of Simi Valley, Calif., Brian (Tiffany) Reddick of Little Rock and Brett (Elizabeth) Crowson of Jonesboro. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. We are so grateful to Dr. Darrell Ragland for the many years of loving care he provided, especially during her difficult last days. Also, thank you to the nurses and staff at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House for their care and support. Memorials may be made to NEA Humane Society, Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House or charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 12, with Brother John Miles officiating. Visitation was held at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial was at Woodland Heights Cemetery. Funeral services were under the directions of Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector..
