Ella Jean Mack

Ella Jean Mack, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on April 24, 2025. Ella Jean was born on December 7, 1936 in Piggott, Arkansas to Glover and Neva Bradford. After graduating Piggott High School in 1954 she married the love of her life, Frank Parton, and of this union her four children were born: Cathy, Debbie, Kim and Scott. When in 1967 Frank passed away at a young age of 33, Ella Jean was left with the challenge of raising four young children on her own.
Ella Jean loved the St. Louis Cardinals and found joy in listening to Marty Ella Jean Mack Robbins. Her love for collecting was evident in her extensive collection of Barbie dolls, Beanie Babies, Shirley Temple memorabilia, jewelry and gemstones. She was a creative soul, often crafting her own jewelry and dolls, and found solace in her colorful flowerbeds and yard, where she would relax with an “extra” sweet tea on her back patio. She had a deep affection for dogs and was especially proud of her AKC champion cocker spaniel, Toby.
Throughout her career, Ella Jean shared her infectious smile around downtown Piggott first with many years at the Ben Franklin store and after its closure, continuing her work at Regions Bank until her first retirement. She then found fulfillment at the Karl and Matilda Pfeiffer Museum, where she gave tours, before retiring a second time in 2020 at the age of 83. It was at the museum where her love of gemstones blossomed.
Ella Jean’s life was a testament to her love for family, including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents; Clarence Mack, her husband of 38 years; and her brother, Joel Bradford.
Ella Jean is survived by her three daughters, Cathy (Steve) Eldridge of Beebe, Arkansas, Debbie (Terry) Pollard of Piggott, Arkansas, Kim (Richard) James of Maumelle, Arkansas; son, Scott (Kelle) Parton of North Little Rock, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Lori Benson, Brian (Bridgett) Eldridge, Kris Pollard, Phillip (Sara) Pollard, Sydney (Rail) Gilliam, Ashley Sullivan; four great-grandchildren, Autumn (Mauricio) San Juan, Sierra (Jeremy) Toombs, Summer Pollard, and Jayce Pollard; three great-great-grandchildren, Kinsley Toombs, Laney Toombs, Oakley Toombs; sister, Lyn (Dan) Benson of Tyler, Texas; brother, Mel (Jackie) Bradford of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Rita Bradford of Little Rock, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
