Gayle Garver, 80, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away February 12, 2025, at Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee due to injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident.
He was born on July 18, 1944, in McDougal, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Willis and Laverna (Read) Garver.
Gayle was united in marriage to Lynda Harmon on November 27, 1965.
Gayle served in the US Army, was a member of the VFW for over 50 years, he was active in Ducks Unlimited, worked as ring man for many auctioneers throughout the years, bought and sold equipment, and he retired from the Wise Company several years ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Laverna (Read) Garver; sister, Lucille; six brothers, Kenneth Garver, Dennis Garver, Rex Garver, Keith Layle Garver, Royce Garver, and Billy Garver; great-granddaughter, Lottie; and his mother-in-law, Mary Harmon.
Gayle is survived by his wife, Lynda Garver; two daughters, Gayla (Dennis) Davis of Piggott, Arkansas, and Tabitha (Neal) White of Rector, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Kitty (Heath) Hatcher, Joseph (Ashlee) Davis, Jacob (Leandra) Davis, Jeffrey (Brianna) Davis, and Daniel (Rena) White; eleven great-grandchildren, Walker, Riley, Jazzlyn, Aubrie, Drew, Emily, Harlee, Lilith, Wells, Sabbath, and Sutton; his fatherin- law, James Harmon; one sister-in-law, Doris Garver; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Johnny Bradshaw officiating and Daniel White assisting. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers were Keith Garver, Travis Birdsong, Cody Burris, Monte Howell, Mark Howell, Joe Marshall Rouse, and Rodney Rouse. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Wicker, Jerry Howell, Roger McKenney, and Donnie Cooper. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
