Mace Hall, a student at PES, recently donated a piece of petrified wood to the Matilda and Karl Pfeiffer Museum. Mace found it near Piggott.Petrified wood is rare.It is created when wood is buried underground in water loaded with dissolved minerals.Over a period of time the wood calcifies and becomes silica rock.The museum wished to thank Mace for his kind donation.
