This week’s photo actually takes us all the way back to the mid-1960s as site preparation was underway for the construction of Sugar Creek Country Club by the Piggott Street Department. More mature readers might remember that the mid-1950s Chevrolet dump truck was later outfitted with a hot oil tank and was used to make asphalt and repair streets. The aged Michigan loader in the background was also used well into the 1980s by the street department-if memory serves correctly.(File photo)
