In recognition of this week’s annual Labor Day Picnic in Rector we share a memory from long-ago.This photo shows the crowd along the parade route in September of 1943, and appears to have been taken near the intersection of North Main and West 5th, looking north.It should be noted that this was during some of the toughest times of World War II,when many were away in service to their country.(file photo)
