This week’s photo takes us back over half a century, to New Years Day 1966, as the Piggott High School Marching Mohawk Band takes part in the Cotton Bowl Festival Parade. Later, the LSU Tigers of the Southeastern Conference would hold-off the Arkansas Razorbacks of the Southwest Conference 14-7 in a contest with national championship implications. Reports from the day indicated over 76,000 packed the Cotton Bowl for that year’s classic.(file photo)
