Marie Hillyer wrapped up a long career at The Piggott Times this week in 1993, after being a part of more than 1,300 editions of the local paper. Although she wasn’t on staff for the first edition, the only one she had missed, she’s pictured looking at a copy of the very first edition of the newspaper. This photo was featured on the front page along with her retirement story. And, although she has enjoyed over 30 years of retirement her work still occasionally appears on these pages, such as her recent Mother’s Day feature.(file photo)
