The PES third grade gifted and talented kids visited the Dixie Donut and Cake Shop in the late fall of 1988, where Kenneth Mowery demonstrated the fine art of cake decorating. They were accompanied by instructor Anita Allman (left-back) and also pictured is Rita Mowery, who worked at the shop alongside her husband for many years.The visit to the donut shop was made by thousands of local students, this reporter included, over the years it was in existence.The building now houses The Hen House, and is located next to the CCTD office on the Piggott square.(file photo)
