Janice Davis Kegley, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, at The Green House Cottages of Walnut Ridge at the age of 85.
Janice was born on May 26, 1940, in Pollard, Arkansas, to the late Earl (Scott) and Katie Geraldine McLeskey Davis.
She was united in marriage to Earl Kegley on May 29, 1960, and to this union, two daughters were born. Earl preceded her in death on December 23, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sandra Davis; in-laws, Reverend Lloyd and Marcella Kegley, brothers- in-law Francis Bellers, Dewayne Kegley, and Roy Henderson She is survived by her two daughters, Janna Kegley Ellis and husband Jim of Campbell Station, Arkansas, and Valarie Kegley Green and husband Jimmy of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas; two granddaughters, who she loved more than anything, Sarah Green Manning and husband Aaron of Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, and Olivia Green Middlecoff and husband Casey of Bono, Arkansas; three great grandchildren, Rylee Manning, Luke Manning, and Markum Manning. She is survived by a sister, Martha Bellers of Cedar Hill, Missouri, sisters in-law, Linda Kegley Henderson of Nesbit, Mississippi, and Henry Kegley of Marked Tree, Arkansas, and several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend, Frances Green of Hoxie, Arkansas.
Visitation was held Friday, July 25, from 1 until 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church of Piggott, 188 N 3rd Avenue, Piggott, Arkansas, funeral services followed at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joe Cole officiating. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas.
Our family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the employees of the Dacus House at Green House Cottages for the compassionate care and love they provided to our mother. Your kindness and dedication meant so much to us during her time there.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Methodist Church of Piggott or The Green House Cottages of Walnut Ridge – Dacus House, 1500 West Main, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas 72476.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, was in charge of the arrangements.
