Jerold Ray Cooper
Jerold Ray Cooper, 84, of Piggott, Ark., passed away February 7, 2024, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott.
Jerold was born on January 6, 1940, in Corning, Ark., and was the son of Cecil and Samantha (Hart) Cooper.
Jerold was united in marriage to Bertha Fry on August 29, 1969.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Samantha Cooper; two brothers Cecil Dale and James Delbert Cooper.
Jerold is survived by his wife Bertha of 54 years; five sisters, Alice Ferguson, Ruth Cavitt, Naomi Housdan, Mary Hoover, Anna (PeeWee) Pritchard all of Corning; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Jerold retired from Darling in Piggott. He loved to fix lawn mowers. He never met a stranger, always loved visiting with neighbors. He loved his dog Peanut which has passed on.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Jerrod Lowe officiating. Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Ark. Pallbearers were Cecil Fry, Robert Fry, Chris Pritchard, Bradley Fry, Jeffrey Fry, and Eddie Lovins. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Fry, Huston Fry, Kevin Fry, Troy Allen Jenkins, Rocky Jenkins, and Arthur Montgomery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday.
