John W. Dover

John W. Dover, 79, of Piggott, Ark., passed away October 8, 2022, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark.
He was born on March 15, 1943, in Flint, Mich., and was the son of the late William Arlet and Wilma Jo (Lingle) Dover.
John was united in marriage to Martha Marie Steen on April 4, 1962.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Ethel Mohler and brother, Gary Dover.
John was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, Ark. He enjoyed his tractor, woodworking, fishing and collecting knives. He especially loved his family. John was a loving husband, dad, brother, son, grandpa, great-grandpa, inlaw, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and treasured friend to all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his wife, Martha Dover of Piggott, Ark.; sons, Johnny Ray Dover and wife Karen of St. Clair, Mo., and Joseph Dover and wife Leslie of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren: Timothy Dover and wife Kayla of Japan, Mo., Krista Hemker and husband Ryan of Norfork, Va., Jessica Schlosser and husband Colin of Farmington, Mo., Houston Dover of Louisville, Ky., Wrenley Dover of Louisville, Ky., Leandra Weiss and husband Brandon of Spokane, Wash.; greatgrandchildren: Lexi, Ryder, John W. Dover Reid, Payton, Bentley, Maverik, Noella, Rowan, and Emory; sisters, Elaine Mistele and husband Lloyd of Palos Verdes, California, and Donna Staples and husband Frank of Piggott, Ark.; brothers, Steve Dover of Pollard, Ark. and Vernon Dover and wife Sybil of Hernando, Miss. and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Bro. Matthew Collier officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard. Pallbearers will be Timothy Dover, Adam Staples, Wayne Hendley, Randy Ridgeway, Greg Mueller, Dave Harrison, Johnny Dover, and Joe Dover. Honorary pallbearers will be Carl Graft, Spencer Permenter, Sonny Johnson, and Houston Dover. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
