Joshua Allen“Detroit”Benson

Joshua Allen “Detroit” Benson, 27 of Rector, Ark., passed from the cares of this life on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at his residence. He was born on March 21, 1996, in Detroit, Mich., to Gerald Dee and Patricia Marlene Foster Benson. Josh was a protector, and a defender of others. He loved with his whole heart, and family meant everything to him. He was a loyal friend to many and especially enjoyed spending play time with Everleigh, Charleigh, and Crue.

Josh was preceded in death by his sister Jordan Benson; his maternal grandparents Rev. Adell and Dorothy Foster.

He is survived by his loving parents Gerald “Jerry” and Pat Foster Benson of Rector; fiancé Torrie Rodriguez; paternal grandparents L.D. and Ronni Benson of South Gate, Mich., and Sharon and Denny Braum of Vermilion, Ohio; Louie his dog and sidekick; along with a host of other special relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday April 12, at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Price officiating. Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was entrusted with arrangements.
