Leo J. Boyd

Leo J. Boyd, 89 of Pollard, Ark., passed away on May 26, 2023, in Dexter, Mo., surrounded by family. He was born on September 30, 1933, in Piggott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister and his wife, Patsy Boyd.
He leaves behind his two sons: James Boyd and wife Brenda and Robert Boyd and wife Tonya. Four grandchildren: Misty Portwood and husband Mark, James A. Boyd, Kristin O’Brien and husband Philip, and Joshua Boyd. Four great-grandchildren: Raelei Portwood, Aiden Portwood, Arwen O’Brien, and Oliver O’Brien.
He was a proud military retiree and shared his love for the military with his family. He first served in the Army and then went into the Air Force where he retired from the USAF after serving 20 years. He spent his retired years living in Pollard where he was known as having the peach orchard. You could always find Leo doing something whether it was garden related, or orchard related. The latter part of his life, Leo loved to stand on his dock and fish from his pond. He was always busy doing something around the place he called home for over the last 40 years.
He lived a full life and will be missed terribly by his family and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Rosewood Cemetery in Malden, Mo., with Shelly Elkins officiating. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott.
