Leon Williams

Leon Williams, 85, of Piggott, Ark., passed away May 17, 2024, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark.

He was born on June 10, 1938, in Piggott, and was the son of the late Roy Wayne and Violet Marie (Rieves) Williams.

Leon was united in marriage to Wanda Woody on July 17, 1960.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Billy Williams and Jerry Williams; and sister, Lula Mae Williams.

Leon worked many years at Brown Shoe Company. He loved to mow, fish and hunt. Leon was a jokester. Many will remember his many pranks.

Leon is survived by his wife, Wanda Williams; son, Lambert (Melissa) Williams of Piggott; daughter, Karen (Keith) Crittenden of Jonesboro, Ark.; grandchildren: Landon (Shelby) Williams, Macey Williams (Drake), Tyler (Brandy) Crittenden, and Brooke (Eric) Clayton; great grandchildren, Thea Williams, Tuck and Stella Clayton, and Piper Crittenden; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, with Jerrod Lowe officiating. Burial was in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Ark. Pallbearers were Matthew Vancil, Chris Bellers, Tyler Crittenden, Kerry Williams, Landon Williams, and Eric Clayton. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Ark.
