Linda Sue (Marlar) Gamble, 86, of Kennett, Mo., departed from this life on June 22, 2023, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. Sue was born on December 4, 1936 in Rector, Ark., to Jewel and Lena Marlar. She worked at the Bank of Rector, participated as a member of the Kennett Country Club, and was a lifelong United Methodist. Sue was a decorated equestrian, avid golfer, enthusiastic reader, and a caretaker and friend to many. Perhaps Sue’s most treasured title was that of a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sue lived her life to the fullest.

On July 20, 2010, in Kennett, Mo., she was united in marriage to Gerry Gamble.

Sue is preceded in death by her loving husband Gerry; parents, Jewel and Lena Marlar; and sister, Jewel Dean Cranford.

Her survivors include two sons, Alan Crancer of Little Rock, Ark., and Stephen (Michelle) Crancer of Rector; three bonus sons that include John (Melanie) Gamble of Kennett, Mo., Gary (Missy) Gamble of LaPlace, La., and Kevin (Rayeann) Gamble of Hot Springs, Ark.; a sister, Eula Jean Haywood of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Jim Marlar of North Little Rock, Ark.; six grandchildren, Hayden, Ryan, Sydney, Marla, Landen and Grayson; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler Crancer and Lola Scott.

A celebration of life was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the Rector First United Methodist Church. The family received visitors from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Pallbearers include Hayden Crancer, Ryan Crancer, Landen Crancer, John Gamble, Kevin Gamble, Patrick McHaney, and Mark Craft. The family would like to express gratitude to Mrs. Sarah Rogers, Ms. Belinda Pulliam, Dr. Jain, and Dr. Diamond for their loving care of our mother and grandmother.
