Lloyd Stanley McCluskey

Lloyd Stanley McCluskey, known affectionately to all as Stanley, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 75. Born on March 27, 1949, to the late Lloyd (Doc) and Lillie Marie (Burns) McCluskey. Stanley was a beacon of light and warmth in the lives of all who knew him.
Stanley was a proud graduate of his local high school, where he formed many lifelong friendships. After graduation, he dedicated many years of service to the US Postal Service, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Stanley also served his country in the US Army.
Stanley’s life was marked by his unwavering faith as an active member of the Jehovah Witness Church. His commitment to his faith was evident in his everyday actions and the love he shared with his church community. He was a man who lived his beliefs, offering support and compassion to those around him.
A man of many interests, Stanley was an avid musician who enjoyed playing the guitar. His love for music was only matched by his love for his animals. At the time of his passing, he was the proud owner of chickens and dogs, all of whom he cared for with great affection.
Above all, Stanley was a family man. He was a very proud grandfather, whose face would light up with joy at the mention of his grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Lloyd (Jason) McCluskey; his cherished grandchildren, Lloyd (Wesley) McCluskey, Mackenzie Nicole McCluskey, Zachary Ross McCluskey, and Connor Eli McCluskey; and his adored great-granddaughter, Lilly Rain McCluskey. Stanley’s legacy of love and kindness will live on through them.
He leaves behind his brother, James McCluskey, and sister, Karla (Duane) Williamson.
He is predeceased by his sister, Judy Parker.
Stanley’s extended family and a multitude of friends will fondly remember his friendly and intelligent nature. He was a man who never met a stranger, and his ability to connect with people was unparalleled.
As we bid farewell to Stanley, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of joy, love, and cherished moments. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as his presence enriched our lives. Stanley’s story does not end with his passing but continues in the hearts of those he touched.
A visitation to celebrate Stanley’s life was held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector.
