Lowell Delain McKenney

Lowell Delain McKenney, 79 of Rector, passed peacefully from this life to forever be in the presence of Jesus on Sunday July 3, 2022, at his residence. He was born on November 11, 1942 in Pollard, Arkansas to the late Frank and Opal Permenter McKenney.
Lowell was a graduate of Arkansas State University, receiving degrees in Elementary and Special Education. He was a faithful member, Deacon and Adult Sunday school teacher of the Rector First General Baptist Church where he served faithfully until his health would no longer allow him. He served our country faithfully in the United States Army and in his spare time loved to fish, garden and spend time with his family and friends. Lowell was a dedicated member of The Gideons International and helped to distribute thousands of Bible’s during his time with them.
Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Brian McKenney; one brother: Gary McKenney.
He is survived by his loving wife: Deanne Hardin McKenney of Rector; one daughter: Lynnette Beard and husband Mike of Newport, Ark.; one son: Delayne McKenney and wife Maddie of Pleasant Plains, Ark.; one brother: Roger McKenney and wife Margie of Piggott; one sister: Brenda Fielder and husband Rick of Jonesboro; two grandchildren: Alex McKenney and fiancé Huong and Avery Hooper; along with a host of other special relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday July 6, 2022, at the Rector First General Baptist Church. Funeral Services will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Ken Price, Bro. Kenny Burns, Bro. Marston Carpenter and Bro. Anthony Dowdy officiating. Burial will follow at Piggott Cemetery. Those who wish may sign the online guestbookS at www.irbyfuneralhome.com
