Lura May Temerian

Lura May Temerian, 90 of Rector, passed away on July 4, 2022 at the Piggott Community Hospital. She was born in Rector, Ark., to the late Morgan and Mary Vernelia (Wright) King. She was a very active woman who stayed busy even in her senior years. She taught school for over 30 years and was loved by many of her students. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rector, and also a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa organization. She owned and operated the Corner Bookstore and the 4th Street Treasures. She loved her family and all of the team members that her husband coached in football during the years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Paul Temerian, her daughter: Paula Temerian and her sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Jim Waldron.
She is survived by her nieces: Kelly (Waldron) & Rodney Parks and Lindsay (Waldron) & Cody Carter and her great-nieces and nephews: Jillian Osborn, Rowdy Parks, Kaylin (K.K.) Carter, Charlie Parks, Lawson Carter and Justice Paul Carter. She is also survived by her special friends, Mike & Penny Scott.
Visitation was held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home with the service beginning at 2 p.m. Interment was at the Woodland Heights Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to the Rector Public Library.
