Martha Jo-Ann Redd

Martha Jo-Ann Redd passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones who will always cherish their memories of her. She was 83 years old.

Born on February 3, 1939, in the small town of Piggott, Ark., Jo-Ann exemplified the teachings and servitude commanded of us by our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, beloved friend, and the most amazing “Nana” to her grandchildren. Since her retirement at the age of 78 from Morgan White Group, Jo-Ann loved to cook and use her passion for sewing to make various items for her loved ones. Her hobbies reflected her passion for serving others.

The love, joy, and happiness she brought to this world will be deeply missed by her friends and family. She spent her entire life serving GodAlmighty as a member of the Church of Christ, and she will spend eternity at the feet of Jesus surrounded by her loved ones and the angels.

She is preceded in death by her mother (Annette Crowson Haywood) and father (Eugene Haywood), late husband (James Mitchell “Mickey” Williams), and her aunts and uncles. Those left to cherish her legacy on earth are her husband J.W. Redd, her son, James Russell Williams (Kim), her daughter, Monica Annette Williams, and her grandchildren, Chelsey Alfors (Bobby), Brook Sweeten (Zach), and Nathaniel Foreman (Shelby). She also leaves behind two step children, Renae’ Stamps (Chris) and her family and Scott Redd (Suzanne) and his family. With respect to her wishes, there will be a small graveside service for immediate family at Piggott Memorial Gardens in Piggott. Funeral arrangements will be handled by Hoggard and Sons Funeral Home in Piggott. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Berean Children’s Home located at 1180 Berea Trail, Bogue Chitto, MS 39629 or go online at bereanhome.org.
