Nurses from the University of Arkansas for Medical Services’ Stroke Program and Piggott Community Hospital were on the Piggott Elementary campus Tuesday, Feb. 21, showing students information about the brain. They brought along a“mega brain”the students could walk through as they learned how the brain works. The nurses focused on the phrase BE FAST, which helps people remember to note changes in balance, eyesight, the face, the arm, and speech to detect a stroke, then to realize when it is time to call 911.
