Avia Taylor (second from left), was the top speller in the Piggott School District Spelling Bee held Wednesday, Dec. 6. She is a fourth grade student at PES. Other top winners include, from left: eighth grader Arwen Clary, second place, seventh graders Emily Martin, third place and fifth grader Letty Bratton, alternate. Plaques were presented to the winners by Piggott State Bank employees Belinda Thomas and Lauren Hickson. Piggott State Bank has supported the spelling bee for several years and also presents each participant with $20 cash.
