Ralph Featherston

Ralph Featherston, 89, of Rector, passed from this life to forever be with Jesus on Wednesday April 26, 2023, surrounded by his family. Ralph was born on December 28, 1933 in Rector to the late John William and Myrtle Beaver Featherston.

Ralph was united in marriage to Mary Virginia Gunn on August 9, 1952, in Clay County. He was retired from manufacturing and farming and was a member of the Rector First General Baptist Church.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Dallas Petty, Clifford Featherston, and Ray Featherston; sisters: Wynell Wesley and Carlene Hodges.

He is survived by his loving wife: Mary Featherston of Rector; three sons: Jimmy Featherston and Sharon of Piggott, Bobby Featherston and Tonny of Piggott, and Kevin Featherston of Lake City; one daughter: Kathy Tompkins of Tyler, Tex.; grandchildren: Joseph Scott of Rector, Michael Hargrove of Greenway, Jeremy Featherston of Piggott, Dustin Causey of Gladewater, Tex., Brandon Featherston of Lake City, Jeff Featherston of Piggott, Gus Featherston of Rector, and Danielle Tompkins Little of Sulphur, La.; 19 greatgrandchildren; five greatgreat grandchildren; along with a host of special nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday April 28, 2023, at the Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector. Funeral services followed at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Marston Carpenter and Bro. Kenny Burns officiating. Interment was at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector. Pallbearers were Joseph Scott, Michael Hargrove, Jeremy Featherston, Dustin Causey, Brandon Featherston, Jeff Featherston and Gus Featherston. Honorary pallbearer was Danielle Little. Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home of Rector was in charge of the arrangements.
