Rector Elementary GT students competed in the regional Story Store writing competition held Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Northeast Arkansas Educational Cooperative in Walnut Ridge.This year, students from the 14 schools within the Northeast Arkansas Educational Cooperative had to recreate a popular story by giving the villain a heroic characteristic and explain how that would change the story. RES had two students who were selected as winners for this year’s competition, Beckett Mabrey (front left) and Raleigh Scott (front right).Their stories, along with the winning stories from other schools, were developed into a play.
