Roma Nell Sanders, 88 of Rector,Ark., died March 25, 2023 at her home.

She was born January 10, 1935, and lived all of her life in the Rector community. She graduated from Rector High School in 1952 where she played basketball on the girls Blackcat team. She was inducted in the Rector High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. She loved to watch college basketball and was always excited to participate in the NCAA tournament bracket of which she won many times. She also liked to bake pecan pies for those that she wanted to show appreciation to or that she cared about.

Roma Nell was preceded in death by her parents: Leon and Eutice (Pruett) Bullock, husband: Hooks Sanders and a son: Joe Lynn Sanders.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Roma Nell Sanders Gwyn and Doug Fry and grandchildren: Summer Sanders, Dustin (Kapra) Graves and Cody Fry.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the Woodland Heights Cemetery with Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
