Sharon Kay Binkley

Sharon Kay Binkley, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away on June 11, 2024, at the age of 64, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 21, 1959, in Rector, Sharon was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched.

Sharon, known affectionately to her friends and family as a woman of faith and boundless love, was predeceased by her beloved parents, Wilburn (WR) and Linda (Turner) Greenway, her devoted husband, Darrell Binkley, and her dear sister, Janet Gunn. Her legacy of love continues through her children, Bryan Lee and Nicole Beck of Rector, and Lora Beck of Jonesboro. Sharon’s joy was multiplied by her adoring grandchildren, Elijiah, Ebony, Ember, and Adaline, who will carry her spirit and teachings with them always.

Her sisters, Sylvia Stephen and Karen with husband Ken Price, will fondly remember Sharon for her unwavering support and the warmth she brought to family gatherings. Sharon’s life was further enriched by the father of her children, Bryan Beck, and a close-knit circle of friends and relatives who will miss her dearly.

young minds as a preschool teacher at Rector Preschool. She was not only an educator but also a mentor.

Her interests were simple yet profound, as she found her greatest happiness in the company of her children and grandchildren. Sharon’s life was a testament to the power of love, and she was often described as kind, faith-filled, and loving—a true reflection of the values she held dear.

Sharon’s final days were spent in Jonesboro, surrounded by the love of her family, a fitting end to a life dedicated to cherishing and nurturing those around her. Her journey on earth has ended, but her legacy of love endures, a beacon of light that will never fade.

A celebration of Sharon’s Life was held Friday, June 21, 2024, at the Rector First General Baptist. Visitation was held at 12 p.m. with service beginning at 1 p.m. Interment followed at Mary Chapels Cemetery.
