Stella Mae Romines

Stella Mae Romines, 82, of Piggott, Ark., passed away surrounded by friends and family on April 11, 2023, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

She was born on August 29, 1940, in Piggott, and was the daughter of Omer and Myrtle (Vaughn) Meade.

Mae was united in marriage to Albert “Bud” Romines on March 19, 1981.

She was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott. She babysat numerous kids over the years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Omer Meade; mother, Myrtle Meade; husband, Albert “Bud” Carroll Romines; and two daughters, Trina Hackworth, and Rhonda Williams; brother, Junior Meade; sister, Sadine Dixon.

Mae is survived by her daughter, Shelby Reeves and husband Michael of Piggott; grandchildren: MaKalia Beck, Brooklyn Beck, Micha Reeves, Krystal Crabtree, Amanda Hackworth, Candace Hackworth, Jason Hackworth, Adam Hackworth, Billy Campbell, and Melinda Clark; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Dawson of Imperial, Mo., and Louise Davis of Cardwell, Mo.; brother, Wayne Meade of Jefferson City, Mo.; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial was in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott. Pallbearers were Michael Reeves, Forrest Schmidt, Ted Hackworth, Matt Culver, and Billy Campbell. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott was in charge of the arrangements. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott.
