Steve Anthony Hill

Steve Anthony Hill, 72, of Piggott, Ark., passed away April 7, 2023, at his home surrounded by friends and family.

He was born on December 21, 1950, in Piggott, and was the son of the late Herbert and Maxine (Huchinson) Hill.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Shane Hill; father, Herbert Hill; mother, Maxine Hill Book; sister, Linda Daub.

Steve enjoyed fishing and mowing yards. He was a great cook, who could not only grill but also bake. He and Penny traveled many miles riding motorcycles over the years. He especially enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting with his best friend since childhood, Jerry Clark. Steve was a longtime member and Trustee of Hitts Chapel General Baptist Church of Piggott.

Steve is survived by his wife Penny Hill; children: Rebecca Lynn Harwell and husband Troy of Poplar Bluff, Mo., James Lawrence Hill and wife Elena of Pollard, Ark., Paul Morris and wife Jeri Beth of Alma, Ark., and Jonathan Morris and wife Jen of Cave Springs, Ark.; grandchildren: Tyler Hill and wife Amanda, Hailey Harwell, Ryan Morris, Josh Morris, Owen Morris, and Luke Morris; sister, Donna Sutton and husband Keith of Little Rock, Ark.; brother, David Hill of Piggott; brother-in-law, Harry Daub of Jacksonville, Fla., and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Hitts Chapel General Baptist Church in Piggott with Bro. Charles Richardson officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, was in charge of the arrangements.
