On Tuesday, Feb.4 Piggott hosted county rival Corning in a cancer charity event.The event was a tribute game to honor the late Coach Chris Brantley, coach of the Lady Mohawks and to recognize World Cancer Day.Those attending were encouraged to wear purple and bring a new stuffed animal for their teddy bear drop. Not only did Piggott participate but their rival Corning also participated to honor Coach Brantley.The drop was held at the first basket made during the senior high girls game. The first basket made was by Blakely Donner and immediately everyone in the crowd began throwing their stuffed animals.The game stopped and players collected the numerous stuffed animals from the court. All the stuffed animals will be donated to St. Jude cancer patients and a portion of the gate money will also be donated to cancer research all in honor of Coach Brantley.The Lady Mohawks defeated the Lady Bobcats with a score of 32-25 but the Mohawks fell to Corning with a score of 66-45.
