RHS career coach Kathy Fowler reported that Pamela Faulkenberry-Fowlkes from the University of Arkansas was on campus Monday morning to speak to students about scholarship searching. She shared the different types of scholarships, how to start the search,as well as how to spot scholarship scam red flags. In addition, she met with our eighth grade career development class. Students learned about college and how they can best use their time throughout high school to prepare for post high school. Some of the advice she gave included“Explore your options through research and experience starting now. Focus on building strong study habits so you can build a strong GPA. Take the ACT as often as possible. Get involved with your school and connect with your community. Visualize yourself at the end of your senior year and use your time to prepare.” (Courtesy photo)
