Virginia Lamp Lively

Virginia Lamp Lively was born February 12, 1932, in Piggott, Ark., to John Gordon Lamp and Flora Ann Arendell Lamp. She died Tuesday, January 24, 2023, in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 90 years.

Virginia was reared and educated in Piggott, and graduated with the Piggott High School Class of 1950. She was married March 6, 1954, in Little Rock, Ark., to Velburn Joshua “Josh” Lively.

Virginia continued her studies in nursing and spent her professional career as a registered nurse. She was a stay-at-home mom and cared for her family. Virginia was a strong woman of faith, having attended the Dewey (Oklahoma) Church of Christ and the Collinsville (Oklahoma) Church of Christ. Virginia was a true disciple of Christ and a committed Bible teacher. She, alongside her husband Josh, was an active supporter of Sojourner’s International for 10 plus years. She enjoyed a variety of pastimes, spending time in her garden and canning. She was very talented with needlework and enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those she leaves behind who hold many cherished memories include her children: Lisa Robinson and husband Robin, of Charlotte, N.C., J.W. Lively and wife Miko, of Angel Fire, N.M., and Latena Ward and husband Christopher “Kip”, of Owasso, Okla.; grandchildren: Andrew Marshall and wife Kati, of Charlotte, N.C., Ashley Marshall, of Charlotte, N.C., Jessie Robinson, of Fairfax, Va., Nikki Chapin and husband Corey, of Mont Holly, N.C., Taylor Lively, of Tulsa, Okla., Colton Lively, of Nashville, Tenn., Regan Lively, of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mason Hite and wife Joanna, of Marshall, Tex., Mia Hite, of Lubbock, Tex., Marlie Hite, of Dallas, Tex., Davis Ward and wife Emily, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Connor Ward, of Chicago, Ill., Adam Lively and wife Laura, of Owasso, Okla., and Aaron Lively and wife Tilly, of Stillwater, Okla.; great grandchildren: Wesley Marshall, Wyatt Marshall, Jaxson Lively, Aaron Lively, Aiden Lively, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Josh Lively; brother, Carl Edward Lamp; and two sisters, Lula Lamp Brandon, and Betty Ann Lamp.

Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023, at Mowery Funeral Service in Owasso, Okla. Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Maplewood Cemetery in Harrison, Ark., with Kyle Brewer officiating with interment following.
