Virginia Louise Guthery

Virginia Louise Guthery, 94, of Troy, Ill., passed from this life on Tuesday May 9, 2023, at Aspen Creek Memory Care. She was born on March 19, 1929, in Clay County, Arkansas, to the late Bill and Stella Tinsley Milburn. Virginia was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and in her spare time loved to work in her garden and flowers each spring.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Otto Guthery; one daughter: Sharon Guthery Shelton; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Leddell and Lucille Milburn; Lavon and Betty Milburn; grandson: Jason Shelton.

She is survived by her daughter: Barbara (Michael) Rogers of Worden, Ill.; grandchildren: Jim Shelton of Michigan, Jamie Richmond of Michigan, Andrea Gilbert of Illinois; five greatgrandchildren; one greatgreat- grandchild; along with a host of other special relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday May 15, 2023, at Irby-Mitchell Funeral Home. Funeral services followed at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Bro. Todd Milburn officiating.
